Top Notch Turf, formerly know as Heine Brothers Sod, has been providing high quality sod to the Flathead Valley since 2003. Heine Brother’s Sod began when Tyler Heine, a freshman in high school, saw the need for a sod installation business that served local residents and landscapers. In the years since, it has continued to grow into a full-service sod farm that can take care of all your sod needs.

Top Notch Turf has a farm located just north of Flathead Lake in beautiful Kalispell, Montana. Specially selected superior grass varieties complement each other producing the best possible sod for one’s yard. Top Notch Turf prides itself with grasses that are drought and disease resistant that are able to handle stress better than the average grass. Add to these features the early spring green-up and lush, dark green color and your sod from Top Notch Turf will bring you enjoyment for years.

Doing Our Part

Top Notch Turf has tested several different grass species and varieties to bring you the best possible grass for your yard. We have found grasses that are more environmentally friendly, and better for you. Less mowing, less water, and less fertilizer save you time and money, as well as helping the environment by needing fewer resources.

Roll Sizes

We are now using the industry standard, a 2′ x 5′ (10 sq.ft.) roll, for easier calculations and faster install time. These rolls allow us to have more stable pallets. Our standard size pallet is 600 sq.ft., making 1/3 less pallets for the customer to handle.

In addition to our standard roll size we also have the ability to use larger rolls for bigger projects.

What We Offer

We provide quality sod sales and installations to Northwest Montana. We offer bluegrass and eco-friendly, shade-tolerant fescue sod. We also offer seed sales and landscape grass development projects, such as food plots.
